The 'Star Wars' creator tied the knot as friends like Ron Howard and Samuel L. Jackson were on hand to give a 'galactic shoutuout' Saturday night.

Star Wars creator George Lucas married his girlfriend of seven years, Mellody Hobson in a wedding ceremony Saturday night that got a ‘galactic shoutout’ from Samuel L. Jackson.

The stars were out in full Force for George Lucas’ wedding to Mellody Hobson Saturday night.
The 69-year-old “Star Wars” creator walked down the aisle with Hobson, 44, at his Skywalker Ranch in Marin County, Calif, People reported.

"Let's give a Galactic shout out to Master George Lucas & his bride Melodie on this, their wedding day," tweeted Samuel L. Jackson, who starred in Lucas’ “Star Wars” prequel trilogy.
Director Ron Howard also took to Twitter to celebrate the newlyweds: “George Lucas Mellody Hobson wedding was joy to behold Bill Moyers service was beautiful, nothing short of profound. Congrats Mr&Mrs Lucas,” he wrote.

Lucas had been dating Hobson, the chair of Ariel Investments, a $3 billion firm, and a contributor on “Good Morning America,” since 2006.
He’ll have time for a long honeymoon after he sold his company, Lucasfilm, to Disney for roughly $4 billion in cash and stock last year.

After the sale, Lucas almost immediately turned around and donated all of that money to an undisclosed education fund.
